Be Careful with Grind Size, Especially if You Use a V60 or Any Dripper

Yesterday, when I brewed my coffee, I decided to reduce the grind size by two levels. I noted a suggestion in my Excel file: If you enhance the body and make the flavor more intense, it would be better. Reduce the grind size by two levels.

It was honestly a mistake because by reducing the grind size, I also reduced the intensity of the coffee. Look at my latest grades:

Actually, the body decreased more than the acidity, making it feel more watery. One of the most important reasons for this is that I use a V60 dripper. Reducing the grind size and making the coffee thicker with a dripper also shortens the brewing time because the water flows faster into the tank. In the end, this results in a low-intensity, watery coffee.

Lesson: Do not reduce the grind size too much, especially if you’re using a dripper.
